Description: Anyone who's seen Ghost already knows: the wheel is sexy. It gets all the attention. But did you know the foundational techniques learned in hand-building can make you an overall better potter?
Learn multiple hand-building techniques including slab, coil and pinch pots that will level-up your overall understanding of clay. But this isn't your grade-school pinch pot. You'll come away with several pieces sure to make your friends exclaim "you MADE that?!?"
Instructor Description:
Katie might have a BFA in Ceramics, but she's been squeezing clay since she was just a kid.
She believes that connecting with others through creativity is vital to the sweetness of life, and values passing along the clay lessons that have been shared with her throughout her career. Her teaching style is inclusive, Katie makes sure everyone in her classes are comfortable despite their skill level, and gives each artist the skills they need to succeed, while finding their own inner creativity.
When she isn't working with clay you might find her baking, riding motorcycles, or getting her hands dirty outside in a garden.

Who can participate: While we're big kids at heart, Half Moon isn't quite set up for kids' classes quite yet. We're hoping to have some kid-friendly offerings later this year. For safety reasons, our classes are currently open to artists age 15 and older.
Hand-Built Pottery with Katie
Your spot in class is a space we block off just for you! Our small class sizes allow for more one-on-one instruction, but that also means cancellations make a big impact. In our series classes, we allow cancellations until a week before class. Any cancellations made 6 - 3 days before the first class will only qualify for a 50% refund, unless we're able to re-book your spot. Cancellations made later than 2 days before class will unfortunately be ineligible for a refund.
You are responsible to decide whether this class fits into your schedule - we are unable to give pro-rated refunds if you can't make it to every session.
