Description: This class is perfect for potters who have completed our level 1 class and are looking for the next step.  Maybe your bowls are still a bit wobbly, but you're familiar with how to work in a studio and can wedge/ throw with a little more confidence than a total beginner.  
 
In this class, you'll get a refresher in how to throw - this time with tips and shortcuts for more consistency in your shapes. We'll also dive deeper into trimming styles, making and attaching handles, lidded vessels and more. After completing this class, potters will feel more confident working independently. Students can expect to bring home 8 - 10 finished pieces that are sure to make your friends exlaim, "you MADE THAT!?" 
 
Includes: 25 lbs of clay, all tools and materials, bisque and glaze firings
 
Instructor Description:
Stephanie is a self-taught potter, which means she is able to give unique insight on the best shortcuts and processes to use. She has experiemented with a little bit of everything in the pottery world and is a wealth of information. Her classes are fun and laid-back, but focus on setting a solid foundation of basic skills that set students up for long-term success. Many of Stephanie's students are now open studio members at our studio.
 
Stephanie is a master at getting great results from people who claim to not have "natural artistic ability". 
 
By the way, if you're in it to learn to make mugs, Stephanie is your instructor - we have no idea what magic she puts in, but her students always come away with top-notch mug skills.
 
Who can participate: While we're big kids at heart, Half Moon isn't quite set up for kids' classes quite yet. We're hoping to have some kid-friendly offerings later this year. For safety reasons, our classes are currently open to artists age 15 and older.
