What to Expect

When you get to the studio, we'll probably be in the middle of class. Come on in! Our instructors are expecting folks to pop by.

The instructor on-hand will be able to direct you to our pickup area, but it's helpful to know what date you were in class.

If you were in a sip & spin: pieces are arranged by class date, and in most cases will also have your initials on the bottom of your piece. When possible, we try to have all your pieces already organized together.

If you were in a 6-week class: all your pieces will be arranged by your maker's mark or initials. (note: If you changed maker's mark at any point, we might have split it into two groups)

If you were in a workshop and need to paint your piece: our instructor on hand will get you set up and ready to go - plan on approx. an hour to paint.

There are empty boxes and newspaper available for you to pack up your stuff for transport, but if you're expecting a big haul it may be helpful to bring a bag or box. If you've got extra newspaper you're planning to recycle, please bring it with you! We're always in need of extra packing supplies.

Help! I can't find my piece!

Occasionally, our date / initial markers rub off in the kiln and make it difficult to organize. If you're missing a piece, check our "help, I'm lost" shelf.

If you still can't find your piece - it's rare, but sometimes pieces do explode in the kiln and are a total loss. If your piece is absolutely nowhere to be found...the kiln gods may have chosen you as their unlucky victim.

If this is you, good news: you're an official potter now! You're also welcome to choose a piece out of our "consoloation prize" box with our condolences. Pieces are also sometimes a little behind in the kiln, or decide to jump onto another shelf. Just in case, leave your information (initials, date in class, email) with us & if it's found we will send you a message!
