Instructor: Katie

Description:

It's commonly said by pottery masters that if you can make a teapot, you can make anything. Teapots require mastery of multiple skills - making the body, lid, spout and handle all in once cohesive piece - all while balancing art and function. Talk about intimidating!

Whether you're new to clay or you've been dabbling with handbuilding and want to build more confidence with your skills, this is the class for you! Join Katie as she makes this historically intimidating project approachable and fun.

You'll learn skills that go past this specific teapot project, and give you the confidence to push your handbuilding projects to the next level.

If time allows, class will expand past teapots to include matching cups, saucers and other cute tea accessories.

Includes: all clay tools, bisque and glaze firings

Who can participate: While we're big kids at heart, Half Moon isn't quite set up for kids' classes quite yet. We're hoping to have some kid-friendly offerings later this year. For safety reasons, our classes are currently open to artists age 15 and older.

  • Your spot in class is a space we block off just for you! Our small class sizes allow for more one-on-one instruction, but that also means cancellations make a big impact. In our series classes, we allow cancellations until a week before class. Any cancellations made 6 - 3 days before the first class will only qualify for a 50% refund, unless we're able to re-book your spot. Cancellations made later than 2 days before class will unfortunately be ineligible for a refund.

You are responsible to decide whether this class fits into your schedule - we are unable to give pro-rated refunds if you can't make it to every session.
