**PLEASE NOTE: purchasing this item will register your junior artist for a week-long class which occurs every day Monday - Friday July 27 - 31 from 1 - 4 p.m. You are responsible for deciding whether this class fits into your schedule - we are unable to give pro-rated refunds if your artist can't make it to every session.**
Class description: We're bringing back Miss Frizzle - running experiments, making mistakes and most of all getting messy!
This camp is designed for pre-teens and early teenagers who want a little extra time discovering and developing their creative selves. We're introducing new artistic techniques (including a 2 optional days devoted to wheel-throwing for those who are interested).
A huge skill as an artist (and in life) is the ability to fail. This camp will help your junior artist see that when adding new skills, failure is part of the process instead of something to fear. We've designed fun projects with plenty of time to take risks (and start over when necessary).
Each day we'll also dive into different aspects of pottery - from types of firing atmospheres, to exploring different ceramic styles around the world.
Our final day will be dedicated to decorating every piece with colorful slips and glazes. After camp is over, our studio technicians will dip everything in clear and fire it in the kiln - pieces will be ready for pick up 1 - 2 weeks after our last day at camp.
To ensure each artist gets personalized attention, each class is capped at 10 people. If you're finding a sold-out workshop: don't fret! Shoot us a message. We'll keep a waiting list - if there's enough demand we will add another session this summer!
