It's a scientific fact: food tastes better out of dishes you made yourself.
Join Whitney as we focus in on each aspect of a dinnerware set:
- Soup bowls
- Pasta bowls
- Plates
- Cups / Mugs
Each week, we'll focus on how to approach functional design...after all, no matter how cute your plate, it ultimately needs to fit into your cabinets. We'll also explore shortcuts used by production potters and focus on making matching sets of items.
Each potter will also have access to open studio hours to practice outside class. Participants should reasonably expect to end up with 2 complete dinnerware sets.
This class is considered "advanced" because we will be centering up to 5 lbs of clay. If you're able to center 2 lbs "reasonably" well, you're probably ready!
Includes: all clay tools, bisque and glaze firings. This class includes 25lbs of clay for each potter. Additional clay is available for $25 / bag.
Who can participate: While we're big kids at heart, Half Moon isn't quite set up for kids' classes quite yet. We're hoping to have some kid-friendly offerings later this year. For safety reasons, our classes are currently open to artists age 15 and older.
dinnerware sets w/ Whitney
Your spot in class is a space we block off just for you! Our small class sizes allow for more one-on-one instruction, but that also means cancellations make a big impact. In our series classes, we allow cancellations until a week before class. Any cancellations made 6 - 3 days before the first class will only qualify for a 50% refund, unless we're able to re-book your spot. Cancellations made later than 2 days before class will unfortunately be ineligible for a refund.
You are responsible to decide whether this class fits into your schedule - we are unable to give pro-rated refunds if you can't make it to every session.
